This is my 2nd post here, and I'm gonna use it to counter all the jerks out there that say video games kill your brain cells. In truth, they challenge you to use your brain, not kill it. The best example of this kind of game is the famous Russian Tetris (yeah, it came from Russia). Think about it: Tetris makes you figure out how to arrange blocks in order to make a staight line, and you only have a few seconds to make a choice. That teaches you how to solve problems quickly (play tetris for 5 hours straight, you'll see what I mean). Not to mention that some doctors beleive that tetris increases the brain's activity levels.
Here is where I get my tetris fun
I have 2 more examples for you. The first example is the good old genre we call First-Person Shooters. What are FPS good for, You ask? The best way to describe it is that they better your reflexes, need I explain more?
The best FPS game is: Halo series
I have 1 more example for you: The Legend of Zelda. It's puzzles vex the mind and can give you headaches from it's mind challenging dungeons, the best example is the imfamous Water Temple in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of time.
By the way, The series compelled me to write a 25-page thesis on it so I could convince everyone it's the best game ever!
In conclusion, don't feel like an idiot just because you play video games, feel smarter. That list was pathetically small, and there are hundreds of games out there that can raise your IQ. It's time to tell the world:
Video Games don't kill your brain, they just kill Idiots, and give birth to Geniuses.
